Taking place between the 23rd and 27th October, Health and Wellbeing week featured a variety of activities and promotional events aimed at enhancing everyone’s understanding of health and wellbeing.
The week is centred around four themes, including: Workers, Workplace, Wellbeing and the Wider Community. With the belief that if all these things are in tune, they create a healthy balance.
Activities
Over the course of the week, employees participated in a number of activities designed to promote health and wellbeing while also raising money for their two chosen charities, St Ann’s Hospice and Francis House Children’s Hospice.
Activities included:
- Healthy breakfasts
- Popular ‘veggies of the day’ blogs
- Top tips from an in-house physiotherapist
- Auctions
- Talks from health care providers
- 5-a-side football
And that’s not all.
Virtual bike ride
The main event of the week was a virtual bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Taking place in the office on exercise bikes provided by local leisure centre, David Lloyd’s, employees completed an 800+ mile ride with minutes to spare. All members of the team were encouraged to take part to raise what they could for a great cause.
Speaking about the event Nick Garner, chief executive officer for Drive Further, said:
“We really want to encourage employee health and wellbeing within Drive Further and I’m extremely proud of the team for coming together to do their bit and raise money for two deserving charities. I want to thank everyone for their donations and for supporting us throughout the week.”
